Ouwens Casserly Kangaroo Island - payment/deposit/refund policy as it relates to properties booked through Ouwens Casserly Kangaroo Island.
An accommodation booking must be confirmed within 1 working day together with a deposit of 25% of the total number of nights booked, with the balance payable 30 days before arrival. The booking is to be confirmed with the FULL AMOUNT if the arrival date is within 30 days at the time of booking.
If booking a package with the accommodation and KI Sealink erry total price, the amount payable to secure the booking is a deposit of 25% of the total payable, with the balance payable 30 days before arrival. The booking is to be confirmed with the FULL AMOUNT if the arrival date is within 30 days at the time of booking.
Payments can be made by Direct Deposit to the Ouwens Casserly Trust Account (bank account details will be provided at the time of confirmation of a booking)

A deposit of 25% of the total tariff, including a BOND if required by a property owner, is required within 1 day to confirm your booking. The balance payable will be due 30 days prior to the first date of your stay, or if staying within 30 days of the first date of your stay the full amount is required to confirm your booking. You will be notified by email regarding balance of payments. A payment processing fee applies to credit card payments. The rate is 1% (including GST) of the payment amount for Visa and MasterCard.
CREDIT CARD TOKENIZATION
Credit card tokenization allows for guests' card information to be saved and may be charged for balances due, certain losses or expenses. Ouwens Casserly Kangaroo Island reserves the right to further charge the credit card in relation to any items as mentioned within the Terms and Conditions (this document).
For any credit card payments where a 1.0% credit card fee has been paid at the time of paying a deposit, balance or full amount, in the event of any cancellation, these credit card fees are NON REFUNDABLE.
For any cancellation - the minimum cancellation fee is the full value of the first night's accommodation
-less than 14 days prior to the date of arrival, the first night or 50% of the total price whichever is the greater plus a $20 handling fee
- less than 7 days notice prior to the date of arrival, 75% of the total price plus a $20 handling fee
- within 24 hours of date of arrival or failure to arrive without notice, 100% of the total price plus a $20 handling fee
ACCOMMODATION/KISEALINK FERRY PACKAGE
For any cancellation - the minimum cancellation fee is the full value of the deposit paid.
-less than 14 days prior to the date of arrival, 50% of the total price paid plus a $20 handling fee.
- less than 7 days notice prior to the date of arrival, 75% of the total price paid plus a $20 handling fee.
- within 24 hours of date of arrival or failure to arrive without notice, 100% of the total price paid plus a $20 handling fee.
No refund is provided in relation to any of the Ouwens Casserly Kangaroo Island listed properties should one or more guests choose not to stay at the property.
From time to time an error or omission may occur in relation to an individual property's pricing and number of people for a booking.
Property rates are based on a minimum number of people which are nominated in the details of a particular property. In most cases an extra charge is valid for an additional person, per night, details of which will be described at each individual property's conditions of rental. If the Ouwens Casserly Kangaroo Island rate calculator omits one or more people when calculating the total payable per night, the client will be advised by us of such additional amount required, (as advertised at that time for that particular property) and the client will be requested to pay the additional amount in full within one month (or less) of the arrival date at the property. Ouwens Casserly Kangaroo Island will not be liable in any way for such error in calculating such rates for additional persons.
If you wish to change any details of your booking, you must contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org . We will do our best to help you, but we cannot assure you that amendments can occur. Reservations at certain holiday accommodation providers simply cannot be cancelled or changed. Some will offer amendments but with a charge. We will always attempt to settle any issues/complaints fairly and promptly. Whilst Ouwens Casserly Kangaroo Island works closely with property owners in ensuring tarriffs are correct and/or up to date on our web site, these can be changed subject to alteration,at times without notice. In this case increases requested by property owners are subject to the conditions of the provider and no responsibility will be accepted by us for unforseen omissions or additional costs incurred, nor for misrepresentation.
Ouwens Casserly Kangaroo Island reserves the right to refuse any booking and for an owner of a property to cancel any booking already made if the property becomes, for reasons beyond the owner's control, unavailable. In such case, a full refund of any monies will be made, and neither Ouwens Casserly Kangaroo Island nor the owners shall be under any other liability. Travel Insurance is recommended.
Mastercard and Visa credit cards only are accepted. To avoid a credit card fee you may choose to arrange a direct transfer to our Trust Account. You must be 18 years of age or older to make a payment on our site.
Unless stipulated on an individual property on the web site, children payable per night between 3 and 14 years. Under 3 free, over 14 payable as an adult rate.
Some properties may require a bond. Ouwens Casserly Kangaroo Isalnd may also request a bond at our discretion. This bond, unless the owner instructs otherwise in relation to damage, breakages or additonal cleaning fees incurred at the property, is refundable within seven days after departure from the property.
Your reservation will permit only you and the members of your party, as advised at the time of booking, to occupy the property for holiday purposes only.
CHECK IN TIME - after 2 pm on the day of arrival. We ask that you DO NOT ARRIVE any earlier to enable housekeepers sufficient time to prepare the property for you.
CHECK OUT TIME - no later than 10.00 am on the day of departure. Property cleaners need to access the property to ensure it is ready for the afternoon guests' arrival.
Early check-in or late check-out times can occasionally be negotiated during off-peak season, and must be done so prior to arrival at the property by contacting the owner DIRECT on the phone number supplied with your payment receipt.
Key location and locality address of the property will be advised to you by email once your reservation has been CONFIRMED. One set of keys per rental will be provided and any unreturned keys will incur a cost of $50, and by accepting your reservation, you authorise Ouwens Casserly Kangaroo Island to deduct an amount of $50 from your credit card should you be unable to return the keys on check out.
As you arrive on Kangaroo Island please ensure you have the correct address and Key Location Details with you for the property you have booked as Ouwens Casserly Kangaroo Island is a booking agency and you may not have phone contact with us at your time of arrival. Please check WELL BEFORE ARRIVAL that you have received the owners phone contact number/s.
Once you have CHECKED INTO the property of your choice, contact in relation to on site enquiries (for example: gas for the BBQ, hot water service not working, linen not left) is the responsiblity of the OWNER so please contact them direct.
Should an issue occur during your stay, Ouwens Casserly Kangaroo Island are not obliged to refund or discount your booking.
Whilst there are many qualified tradespeople residing on KI, owners cannot guarantee the speediness of repairs due to the remote nature of the Island.
Should, on a rare occasion, it be deemed appropriate by the owner and/or Ouwens Casserly Kangaroo Island to relocate the guests to another property, Ouwens Casserly Kangaroo Island will not be held liable for any inconvenience or additional costs incurred.
The owner will have available at the property for you TWO EMERGENCY contact numbers, for any on-site assistance.
You are required to vacate the property in a clean and tidy condition, including dishes washed & put away, BBQs clean, rubbish in bins. The owner reserves the right to charge an additional $75 cleaning fee, if required, should the property not be left in a clean and tidy condition.
Unless specifically shown in Ouwens Casserly Kangaroo Island's (including the Web site) for specific propertiesunder no circumstances are pets allowed at the property. Owners will have the right to ask guests to leave if this request is ignored.
One third of Kangaroo Island is under National Parks protection and no pets are permitted into any of the parks - including being left in a vehicle. All pets brought onto Kangaroo Island must be registered with the Kangaroo Island Council. Please refer to the Council's web site for details on how to register your pet.
Any self contained property booked through Ouwens Casserly Kangaroo Island interiors are strictly smoke-free areas. Please dispose of any butts into the garbage. One cigarette butt that reaches Kangaroo Island's pristine waterways can kill all Platypus within a 20 km radius. Dispose of thoughtfully, thank you.
Please use water sparingly during your visit as many properties rely totally on RAIN WATER.
Rubbish Collection Day will be inlcuded in the information supplied by the property owner. Please put the bin/s out on the approriate morning. Excess rubbish must be taken to the Kangaroo Island Waste Centre. GARBAGE DISPOSAL is the guests' responsiblity, thank you.
Ouwens Casserly Kangaroo Island is a booking agent for the selected property only and Public Liability is the responsiblity of the owner of the property. You enter the property totally at your own risk. Whilst Ouwens Casserly Kangaroo Island has been provided with details of Public Liability Insurance of a minimum $10m by the owner of the property, neither Ouwens Casserly Kangaroo Island nor the property owner is liable for or holds insurance for rental guests personal property should theft, damage or loss occur during the rental period at such property. Lock the property when you leave and do not leave valuables in view. Insurance of personal property is highly recommended.
You, the guest, is responsible for all damage and breakages. Please report any damage to the home or common property to the owners prior to departure. . You wil be financially responsible for all breakages, damage to furnishings or electrical equipment and the like, during the time of your stay at the property. All properties are privately owned and you are requested not to move furniture around Please do not move items from property to property or take indoor furniture outdoors and vice versa. Thank you for respecting the owners' house and property during your stay.
Property owner's personal scenarios can change quite quickly. Unfortunately we do not have control over this! However, we encourage all property owners and the new purchasers to honour all bookings. A problem in this respect has not yet happened, however if this does occur you will be notified immediately and we will endeavour to assist in organizing alternative accommodation. The new owners' decisions are out of Ouwens Cassrly Kangaroo Island's control.

Ouwens Casserly Kangaroo Island's selected holiday homes are advertised with icons for features such as; maximum people, number of cars etc. Should extra mattresses, caravans or tents, or more vehicles than the icons on the Ouwens Casserly Kangaroo Island website display are witnessed by a property owner or one of our employese, then the guests will be asked to vacate without any reimbursement whatsoever.
